Concert Ticket Sales

The last event I attended was the Black Crowes at the Boston Opera House. I bought the tickets though Stubhub, as Ticketmaster only had limited view seats left. The position was great. I could see the entire show without obstruction, sitting in the first row of the dress circle. The tickets were delivered quickly via overnight envelope by FedEx- and they were delivered to my work address, which made the ordering process easy.

I have also purchased a good amount of tickets from Ticketmaster for upcoming hockey games in Boston. The Ticketmaster fees are outrageous, averaging nine dollars per ticket, per game, before shipping is factored in. Ticketmaster would make the ticket buying experience much more pleasurable by going to a flat fee per transaction, as it really punishes its best customers with its current pricing structure. If there was any alternative available, I am sure that they would lower their prices, but for most non-season ticket holders, there is not. Stubhub’s policy of a percentage fee seems to be the best solution, and the ability to choose where you sit is great....
